Tamanna is a mental health clinician, avid sewist, and textile artist who loves exploring natural materials and processes. She practices embroidery, weaving, natural dyeing, knitting, and, especially, garment sewing. Slow Work Sewing is a community celebrating an intentional approach to craft, with a focus on material, process, history and connection.

Are prior skills necessary for this session and if so what? None, though any past familiarity with a sewing machine will be helpful.
What do you want students to get out of your workshop? The confidence and skills to sew clothing that honors your unique body and a finished garment to take home.
How many student slots are available for studio session? 10
Material cost fee: Potentially, $50pp in addition to the retreat tuition fees for those who can afford to pay. The material cost is free if it will pose a hardship. Tamanna will communicate with you in advance re: your choice of colorway for the fabric.
What do you hope to get out of this retreat?: I hope to connect with other mamas of color, spend a week in a beautiful place, and keep growing my creative community.
